25-yr-old is changing minds of fans: Three things we learned about Rangers in win against Dundee

Alves is the main man

Bruno Alves came to Scotland with an impressive pedigree having already won titles in Portugal, Russia and Turkey but the veteran Portuguese defender has transformed the Gers defence in a few short months in Glasgow.

The European Championship winner has rarely looked flustered since moving to Ibrox and after two seasons of Danny Wilson and Rob Kiernan, Rangers fans will be delighted with the way the Light Blues no longer look like conceding every time they lose possession.

The fact he’s still picking up caps for Portugal at the age of 35 speaks volumes of his quality, never mind that he’s still being picked for his country while playing in the Scottish Premiership.

The upcoming Old Firm will be a good test for Alves as he and defensive partner Fabio Cardoso face their biggest threat yet in Celtic’s Moussa Dembele.

In other Rangers news, Pedro Caixinha raved about this 21-year-old’s performance against Dundee.
