Trent Alexander-Arnold: ‘Deal could be done in weeks’

Trent Alexander-Arnold could agree a deal to leave Liverpool within a matter of weeks, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that Real Madrid are “making advances” on the England international.

The 25-year-old is eligible to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with the La Liga giants from January 1st, and that could see him officially bring an end to his spell at Anfield.

Alexander-Arnold leaving Merseyside would be seen as a “huge loss” for Arne Slot’s side, and the Premier League giants are continuing to do everything they can to convince him to stay.

Football Insider previously revealed that Alexander-Arnold is “more than happy” to remain at Anfield for the foreseeable future, but he wants the club to match his personal ambitions.

However, well-placed sources have told Football Insider that the appeal of Real Madrid is expected to be too much for the right-back.

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s Liverpool future looks bleaker by the day

Nothing is done until it’s done in regards to Alexander-Arnold’s future, but it is looking “more likely” that he will end up moving to Spain.

The longer the situation drags on the less likely it seems that the full-back will remain with his boyhood club, as he is seen as the easiest of the deals for Liverpool to complete due to his history.

The Reds are also dealing with the fact that Virgil Van Dijk and Mohamed Salah are out of contract at the end of this season as well, with the future of the star trio up in the air.

Liverpool

Football Insider revealed that the Egypt international is demanding a whopping three-year deal to remain in England past this season.

Meanwhile, Football Insider reported that Van Dijk’s contract is being seen as the “number one priority” for Liverpool right now.
