Confirmed Wolves line-up v Birmingham: Lambert makes one change
By Danny Wright
Paul Lambert has made just one change to his side to face Birmingham in a crucial West Midlands derby at Molineux.
Wolves have opted to bring Richard Stearman back to the squad in place of Kortney Hause in the only change to the side that lost 2-0 to Chelsea last week.
Nouha Dicko and Mike Williamson return to the bench after their spell on the sidelines while Connor Ronan misses his first squad since suffering a stress fracture on his back.
After a run of three league defeats, Lambert will be hoping that his side can draw inspiration from their valiant effort against the Premier League leaders in last week’s FA Cup fifth round tie.
Wolves are one of two teams in the relegation mix to have played two less games than most teams in the league.
A win on Friday could see them move up two places to 17th, ahead of Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa.
A victory would also mean they are just two points behind Birmingham.
On the other hand, defeat could prove costly if results were to go against them over the weekend. For instance, wins for Wigan and Bristol and a draw for Burton would see them just two point above the drop zone in 21st place.
Birmingham are on a terrible run of form since replacing Gary Rowett with Gianfranco Zola just before Christmas.
Since the Italian was put in the hot-seat at St. Andrews, his side have won just one league game and picked up just six points out of a possible 36, which has seen them drop to relegation worriers.
The Blues have failed to beat Wolves at Molineux since 2009 and have picked up just two points in their four meetings at the Black Country stadium since.
In other Wolves news, Lambert makes a shocking admission about his meeting with the club owner.
