‘Big difference’, ‘Love being proved wrong’: Wolves fans stunned by display of one man v Reading
Wolves got back to winning ways on Tuesday night, with a comfortable 3-0 win over a very poor Reading side in the Championship – and fans were stunned and delighted by a fine performance from on-loan striker Benik Afobe.
Matt Doherty got two, sandwiched by a goal from Afobe, and the home fans were delighted that their on-loan striker got a goal on his first league start back at Molineux.
The 25-year-old re-joined Wolves on loan from Premier League side Bournemouth in January, scoring his first goal back in the 3-0 demolition of Leeds.
He had been limited to cameo appearances up until now but Nuno rewarded him with a start against Reading after his side’s poor performance in the 4-1 defeat to rivals Aston Villa at the weekend.
He repaid his manager with a goal and fans are delighted to see him getting back to his old self of the pitch after a stuttering start back at Molineux.
To make things even better, Villa, who were threatening to catch Wolves at the top of the Championship, suffered a shock 3-1 defeat at home to QPR.
