Bournemouth to ‘reluctantly’ accept Marcus Tavernier offer amid Man United transfer latest
AFC Bournemouth are ready to “reluctantly” accept an offer for Manchester United target Marcus Tavernier this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The Cherries are expected to find it “difficult” to keep hold of the 26-year-old during the upcoming transfer window, despite the fact that he is not one of the Red Devils’ priority targets at the moment.
The winger is also on the radar of some of the Premier League’s other top clubs, and sources say that while Bournemouth are under no pressure to sell him, they are inclined to accept any satisfactory bids.
Manchester United’s transfer plans for next season feature Tavernier as a strong option to strengthen their attacking options, and Bournemouth are already resigned to the fact that they are likely to lose their key players once again.

Tavernier is now into his fourth full season at the Vitality Stadium, and he has been an influential figure for Bournemouth once again this term.
His nine goal involvements have helped to lift Andoni Iraola’s side into the top half of the Premier League table at the moment, and nobody else at the club can match his productivity so far in 2025-26.
The former Middlesbrough man’s increased importance on the South Coast has unsurprisingly attracted interest from one of the Premier League’s elite in United, who have now earmarked him as a candidate to add to their squad for next season.
Bournemouth have become accustomed to having to continually replace some of their brightest talents in recent years, provided that they are able to secure a beneficial sum in the process.
That looks set to be the case once again with Tavernier, as Iraola and Co. have already slapped a £40million valuation on his head, according to the Daily Mail.

A deal will not come cheaply for United as a result, but they will know that Bournemouth will be receptive to their advances if they are prepared to meet their asking price.
Julian Ryerson to follow Tavernier to Old Trafford?
Football Insider revealed on Tuesday that United are battling Newcastle to sign Borussia Dortmund right-back Julian Ryerson this summer.
The Norwegian is set to be allowed to leave the Bundesliga giants for a fee of £26m this summer, with the club in need of cash after they were knocked out of the Champions League last week.
United have identified the 28-year-old as a target for the upcoming window, as they are looking to add greater depth in their full-back areas.
Ryerson has starred for Dortmund with 14 assists in all competitions, while only Michael Olise has set up more goals than him in the Bundesliga this term.
It remains to be seen whether United will be willing to meet the asking price to secure his services, but if so, he could be ready to follow Tavernier to Old Trafford.
