Bruno Fernandes’ updated stance on Man United future revealed as deal edges closer
Bruno Fernandes will be happy to stay at Manchester United if interim manager Michael Carrick is appointed on a full-time basis, sources have told Football Insider.
The Red Devils’ captain has been linked with a potential summer exit as he prepares to enter the final year of his contract, but it is understood that he would be keen to see Carrick’s strong start rewarded by the board.
Fernandes is keen for to the club match his own ambitions in the game, and sources say that as long as they continue to show signs of improvement and a capability to challenge, he will stay at United.
Carrick is now the heavy favourite to be appointed as Manchester United’s manager on a permanent basis, with the team notching six wins from their opening seven Premier League games under his guidance.

VISIT THE MANAGER HUBMichael Carrick appointment at Man United set to be sealed
Former Everton and Aston Villa chief executive Keith Wyness told Football Insider last week that it would take a real “collapse” in results for Carrick not to get the job permanently.
The 44-year-old led the Red Devils to another victory over Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Sunday, and those three points have now carried them above Aston Villa and up to third in the table.
| Team | Games | GD | PTS | |

Their current situation is a far cry from the divisive feeling that was in place around the club with Ruben Amorim at the helm earlier in the campaign, and United are now growing increasingly likely to secure Champions League football.
The Premier League looks set to receive a fifth spot in next year’s competition, and with Carrick’s men now having a six-point buffer built up to sixth-placed Chelsea, they are in a commanding position at the moment.

Wyness told Football Insider that qualification for the Champions League would leave Carrick “nailed on” for the full-time job, due to the lucrative financial benefits that it would bring in the process.
Benjamin Sesko also keen to see Carrick appointment
Former Manchester United scout Mick Brown told Football Insider earlier this week that Benjamin Sesko is also among a big group of players who are keen to see Carrick kept on.
The Slovenian striker has flourished with four goals in the seven games under the interim’s guidance, even if he has primarily been used as an impact substitute in recent weeks.
Nevertheless, Brown revealed that Carrick has instilled confidence and happiness in the 22-year-old, and that feeling is consistent across the majority of the first team squad at Old Trafford.
The players are hoping to see him get the chance to continue to build on what he has started, and as a result, they are keen to see the positive feeling surrounding the club carry over into next term.
