Everton to hit the jackpot as Arsenal prepare to accept Myles Lewis-Skelly offer

Myles Lewis-Skelly is facing an uncertain future at Arsenal once again after mid-season interest from the likes of Everton.

The left-back was linked with a loan move away from the Emirates Stadium back in the autumn, but it ultimately failed to come to fruition in the recent January transfer window.

Lewis-Skelly has since started just one game in the league, and has found himself remaining firmly below the duo of Piero Hincapie and Riccardo Calafiori in Mikel Arteta’s pecking order at left-back.

Everton’s transfer plans are already taking shape ahead of the upcoming window, and the Toffees will surely still have the youngster on their radar after the latest update from North London.

Everton to lick their lips as Arsenal ready to open exit door

Lewis-Skelly burst onto the scene for the Gunners last season, and his meteoric rise even saw him receive his first senior England appearances back in the autumn.

The 19-year-old is earmarked as a huge talent for the future at the Emirates Stadium, but their relentless pursuit of the Premier League title has pushed him to the fringes of the squad this term.

Football Insider revealed on Sunday that Arsenal could be ready to accept an offer for the defender to leave on loan ahead of next season, due to the lack of football that he has received of late.

That will surely have David Moyes and Everton licking their lips ahead of the window, as they have struggled badly with a lack of depth in both full-back positions since the start of the campaign.

Moyes is keen to build a crop of top young British talents on Merseyside, and Lewis-Skelly is certainly somebody who fits the bill for him, given their previous interest, according to Goodison News.

The Toffees were keen to try and sign him in the last window, and if their interest still remains behind the scenes, then the latest update from the capital will have them feeling that they have hit the jackpot.

How does Myles Lewis-Skelly feel about a move?

Football Insider revealed that Lewis-Skelly would be open to leaving Arsenal in the summer, as he bids to find regular gametime to help aid his development.

The starlet penned a new long-term contract last summer, which is set to keep him at his boyhood club until the summer of 2030, but it is looking increasingly likely that he may find himself out on loan next year.

The player himself is keen to push for further opportunities, whether they come with or away from Arsenal in the immediate future.

Nevertheless, Lewis-Skelly is still seen as a key part of Arteta’s plans in the long-term, and the Gunners have no intention of entertaining any suggestion of a permanent sale.

However, that will likely do little to stop Everton and other Premier League clubs from pushing for a loan deal this summer, given that the door looks likely to be opened for them.
