Fulham have agreed a deal to sign PSV Eindhoven defender Timo Baumgartl, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

The 24-year-old has been identified as the man to solve the club’s defensive problems with moves for numerous other targets having fallen through.

Provided there are no complications, he will then put pen to paper to complete a loan move from PSV.

Baumgartl made 22 appearances for the Dutch side last season, including three starts in the Europa League group stages.

He still has four years left on his contract at the Philips Stadium having penned a five-year deal upon his £9million arrival from Stuttgart last summer.
