Exclusive: Everton set sights on Julian Brandt deal after agreement reached
Everton have continued to keep tabs on Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Brandt, sources have told Football Insider.
The Toffees are now eyeing up a summer move for the 29-year-old, who has agreed to leave Dortmund upon the expiry of his contract at the end of the season.
David Moyes’ side were heavily linked with a move for the German earlier in the season, and sources say that they have him on their radar once again now that it has been confirmed that he will be available as a free agent.
Everton’s recruitment team have identified Brandt as a player who can improve their attacking output for next term, but they are expected to face heavy competition for his signature given his experience and versatility.

Brandt has been one of the Bundesliga’s most consistent performers in recent years, and he has played a key role for Dortmund once again this term.
The former Bayer Leverkusen man has notched nine goal involvements from just 20 appearances in the league so far in 2025-26, having ended the last campaign with 15.
His performances over the years have also seen him amass 48 senior caps for Germany, and he was part of the squad that was knocked out in the Group Stages of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Brandt has never played outside the Bundesliga, but looks set to be ready for a new challenge next term as he enters the prime years of his career.
The lack of a transfer fee needed to secure his services ahead of next season looks set to see clubs from across Europe take interest in him, and Everton likely to face plenty of competition as a result.
Brandt is capable of playing in both central and attacking midfield roles, while also operating on either flank, and that versatility has made him a clear target for Moyes and Everton.
Everton transfer plans to benefit from £60m boost
Former Toffees chief executive Keith Wyness told Football Insider last week that Everton could stand to make £60million from their new front-of-shirt sponsorship, amid suggestions that Toyota could be set to take on the role for next season.
The Scottish businessman has outlined that a deal with the Japanese car giants could potentially see his former club net a yearly fee of around the £15m mark across a four-year agreement.
It remains to be seen whether Everton will be able to strike a deal which is as lucrative as Wyness expects, but if they can, it would provide a significant boost to their coffers ahead of next season.
That would likely have a knock-on effect in terms of the tranfser budget that is made available for the recruitment team to work with, as the club try and push towards European football.
