Exclusive: Liverpool told Tottenham will accept ‘£70m’ Micky van de Ven offer
Tottenham Hotspur have placed a £70million price tag on Micky van de Ven amid interest from the likes of Liverpool, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The 24-year-old is widely expected to leave in the summer after what has been a miserable season which could end with Spurs being relegated to the Championship.
Regardless of whether they stay up, however, their likely lack of European football could force a number of key players including Van de Ven out of the door.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, there is no shortage of interest in the Netherlands international and he is expected to move on.
He is under contract in North London until 2029, but that will make little difference should he push to leave Tottenham, who are facing a difficult transfer window.

VISIT THE TRANSFER HUBFootball Insider revealed on 8 March that Liverpool are leading the race for Van de Ven and have been handed a boost by Barcelona’s financial situation.
His likely £60-70million price tag will likely prove too steep for the Spanish giants to meet, potentially opening the door for the Reds to make a move.
With a growing likelihood that he will leave Spurs in the summer, they are hopeful of receiving a good price, but it could be impacted again if they are relegated.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “Yeah, if Tottenham don’t qualify for Europe, some of their best players will be looking to play in European competition.
“It’s no surprise that other clubs are monitoring his situation. Barcelona have been strongly linked with a potential move in Spain.
“But again, there’s a few difficulties for any potential move in that respect because we know Barcelona’s ongoing financial situation.
“With three years left in his contract, you would imagine Tottenham would be looking in excess of £60million to £70million for somebody like Van de Ven.
“Real Madrid have also been linked and Liverpool have been credited with an interest in Van de Ven as well.

“If Spurs were to get relegated, you would imagine Van de Ven would be among a number of players who’d be seeking a move out of Tottenham, and that price tag might drop.
“They won’t be able to afford to keep him and the defender won’t be keen to stick around, so there are a number of clubs who will be interested.”
Tottenham could be forced to sell Archie Gray
Van de Ven is not the only Spurs star who could be on the move after what has proved to be a dismal season, with relegation still a distinct possibility.
Football Insider revealed on 1 March that Tottenham could be forced to sell Archie Gray if they suffer relegation amid growing interest in his situation.
Spurs currently sit just one point above West Ham and the relegation zone, with both the Hammers and Nottingham Forest showing more signs of improvement.

In that case, they would be unable to keep hold of their best players, and the likes of Gray could be quickly snapped up by one of Europe’s top clubs.
Bayern Munich are among those credited with an interest in the former Leeds United star and he could be lured away if Spurs’ results do no turn around.
