Exclusive: Mason Mount’s Man United exit stance revealed
Mason Mount has no intention of pushing to leave Manchester United this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The attacking midfielder still feels that he has plenty to prove at Old Trafford, and is currently focusing on trying to ensure that he can remain fit and in the matchday squad until the remainder of the season.
Former United scout Mick Brown told Football Insider last week that Aston Villa and Fulham are both chasing a deal for Mount this summer, but sources say that the player himself feels that he has been unfortunate with injuries and is keen to continue to fight for his place.
Man United’s transfer plans for the upcoming window are beginning to take shape already, and they have little reason to be concerned over losing the 27-year-old.

Mount served as a major addition for United when they splashed out an initial £55million to sign him from Chelsea in the summer of 2023, but there has been frustration at Old Trafford due to how the move has played out so far.
The former England international showed plenty of quality in the early stages of the season and has scored three times from just 10 starts so far this term.
However, injuries have since set in for him yet again, and he has played just one minute of competitive football since the FA Cup clash with Brighton on 11 January.
Mount has already missed eight games through injury in all competitions in 2025-26, but his issues across the previous two campaigns have been even more severe.
He was out of action for 23 games last season across a pair of hamstring problems, while his debut campaign at United in 2023-24 saw him miss 26 matches.

Interim manager Michael Carrick has hardly been able to use him so far, but it is beginning to look increasingly likely that he will be part of the squad again next term, despite the recent interest.
Man United recruitment team at risk of major blow
Football Insider revealed earlier this week that Man United’s chief goalkeeper scout Tony Coton is attracting strong interest from other clubs.
Bundesliga duo Bayer Leverkusen and Wolfsburg have their eyes fixed firmly on the experienced head, while Serie A outfit Como also have him on their radar with a view to making a move.
Coton is understood to have played a vital role in the move to sign Senne Lammens last summer, and previously helped to sign Edwin van der Sar in his past role as United’s goalkeeping coach.
Lammens’ arrival has provided security between the posts for the Red Devils this term, but they could now be set to lose the mastermind behind their goalkeeping improvements.
