Harry Kane, formerly of Tottenham Hotspur, has written a heartwarming message for an old teammate following their retirement from international football.

The talented centre-forward is one of the leading figures on the international stage, netting 78 goals in 112 caps for England, currently starring in the Bundesliga for Bayern Munich.

Due to his links back to Tottenham, there are always rumours about a potential return to the Premier League for the striker, and he clearly still has a lot of links with his former Spurs team.

Tottenham’s transfer plans are likely taking shape, and while it has been quite some time since Kane and Kyle Walker were playing together at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, they still share a special bond.

Kyle Walker announces his retirement from England duty

It is Burnley’s Kyle Walker, formerly of Spurs and Man City, who will no longer be playing for the Three Lions, with messages pouring in for the 35-year-old full-back.

“It’s been an absolute pleasure to share the pitch with you for so many years, Kyle Walker!! We’ve made so many incredible memories along the way that I will never forget.

“I’m proud to call you my teammate! All the best with your international retirement, mate, and thank you for everything you gave to your country.”

The post claimed plenty of attention from Premier League stars, including Jack Grealish, Dominic Solanke and Declan Rice, as well as Jan Vertonghen, Christian Eriksen and Jude Bellingham.

What’s next for Harry Kane?

Speaking to Football Insider, Keith Wyness said that hiring Mauricio Pochettino could persuade Kane to return to North London, and the club are likely to go for the Argentine’s signature after the World Cup.

It would be a real fairytale if the 32-year-old were to make a dramatic return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, having netted 279 goals for the Lilywhites.

He certainly still has unfinished business in the Premier League, with the striker only 47 goals behind Alan Shearer, 260, in the all-time Premier League scoring rankings.

It won’t be long before Kane is thinking about retirement from international football, which is exactly why he and the Three Lions will be desperate to claim the World Cup trophy this summer.
