Jamie O’Hara storms out of talkSPORT studio amid Tottenham debate: ‘It’s pointless…’

Jamie O’Hara has hit the headlines after he stormed out of the talkSPORT studio after Tottenham Hotspur were beaten 3-1 at home by Crystal Palace on Thursday.

The former Lilywhites midfielder became enraged during the latest edition of his Sports Bar show with the ex-Chelsea defender Jason Cundy, and responded by turning his back on his fellow presenter.

Spurs’ evening began with positivity when Dominic Solanke gave them the lead in the crucial clash with 34 minutes on the clock, but things quickly turned sour for them before the half-time break.

Captain Micky van de Ven was sent off in the 38th minute, with Ismaila Sarr converting the resulting penalty, before Jorgen Strand Larsen and another Sarr strike in first-half stoppage-time put the result beyond doubt.

Tottenham’s latest defeat has left them just one point clear of the Premier League’s relegation zone, and they find themselves staring down the barrel of an embarrassing drop into the Championship.

This is what Jason Cundy said to make Jamie O’Hara walk out

O’Hara has always worn his heart on his sleeve when it comes to the fortunes of his former club, but his anger towards their situation arguably hit a new level on Thursday night.

The North London outfit are now 11 games without a win in the Premier League, and the intended boost that was expected to come with Igor Tudor’s interim appointment has already hit trouble.

Spurs have been beaten in all three of the Croatian’s opening assignments, and speculation is already swirling as to whether he will even see out the season in the capital.

Nevertheless, Cundy suggested that the defeat to Crystal Palace was not Tudor’s fault, while adding that he “needed time on the training ground.”

He was then asked by O’Hara whether he thinks the former Juventus boss is “good enough” for the Spurs job, to which he replied: “I think he’s good enough, I’ve seen signs, encouraging signs.”

O’Hara promptly decided that his co-host was trying to draw a reaction out of him, as he responded with: “It’s pointless doing a show with you, you’re not being serious,” before walking out of the studio.

The 39-year-old eventually returned to conclude the show as usual, but footage of the moment has since spread far and wide on social media.

Former Manchester City financial advisor Stefan Borson recently told Football Insider that Tottenham would instantly lose over £60million in revenue if they are relegated from the Premier League, and that prospect is weighing heavily on everyone connected to them at the moment.

Tottenham face harsh reality in Champions League campaign

Tottenham are set to continue their promising Champions League campaign on Tuesday night, as their two-leg Round of 16 tie with Atletico Madrid is due to kick off in the Spanish capital.

Despite all of their domestic struggles, Spurs have enjoyed a promising campaign on the continent so far this term, after they finished fourth in the league phase, losing just one of their eight games in the opening round.

However, the harsh reality of the way that the rest of their season has unfolded is that Tudor must now sacrifice their knockout tie in order to prioritise staying in the Premier League.

The squad is stretched thinly at the moment, and as a result, it makes more sense for the manager to prioritise rotation against Atletico, than it does to risk another league defeat against Liverpool next weekend.

Tottenham will be desperate to secure the financial benefits of a deep run in the Champions League, but it is clear that right now, survival in the Premier League alone is more valuable to them than anything else on offer.
