Keith Wyness: This is who Tottenham’s owners want to agree part-takeover deal with
Tottenham Hotspur’s ownership could look into pairing up with an NFL owner to fulfil the potential of the club.
That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who thinks Spurs are “very attractive” to potential new investors.
Former Newcastle co-owner Amanda Staveley has been keen to buy Spurs recently, but the Lewis Family Trust do not wish to give away their majority stake.
Spurs are facing a devastating financial blow if they are relegated from the Premier League this season, with the club also needing to maximise revenue from their state-of-the-art 62,000 capacity stadium.

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes the multiple revenue streams at Spurs are what would still make it attractive to investors, even in the Championship.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness thinks the club could create a “sporting empire” if they teamed up with an NFL owner.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “We know that there’s a relegation battle going on right now, and that’s going to feed into people’s minds as well.
“But the strength, I suppose, of Spurs right now is they’ve got more diversified revenue streams with the new stadium, the NFL games, concerts, etc. So that still makes it very attractive.
“But if they were to go down, we all know that they have to hang on to the asset and get it back up to make it worth the sort of valuation that they think they can achieve. So all in all, it’s something that I think, you know, the company is called Tavistock that the Lewis family have.
“They’ve got other sporting assets as well. And I think they’re going to be looking long and hard, but I think they’d want somebody. I’d always imagined like an NFL owner or somebody in North America, coming together with them to try and create more of a sporting empire is the way that I would see them going rather than taking somebody coming in who really had all their eggs in one basket, if you know what I mean. So I’m afraid I don’t see this one really getting closed quickly.”

Igor Tudor facing Tottenham sack
Sources have told Football Insider that Igor Tudor is close to the sack at Spurs if results do not improve in their next three games.
Tudor was only appointed manager in February following the sacking of Thomas Frank, with the 47-year-old placed in interim charge until the end of the season.
Spurs travel to Liverpool next in the Premier League, just one point above the relegation zone, looking to win at Anfield for the first time since 2011.
