Man United to make obvious Tyler Adams transfer decision after ‘dream’ reveal

Bournemouth star Tyler Adams’ latest comments about Manchester United will surely encourage the Old Trafford giants to sign him in the summer transfer window.

Adams has been key to Bournemouth’s rise under Andoni Iraola over the last 18 months, after an injury-hit debut season at the club saw him limited to just four appearances.

The USA midfielder played 32 times for the Cherries last term to help them finish ninth in the Premier League, with his performances seeing him attract transfer interest from Man United.

He has remained on the south coast up to now, with two goals in 19 appearances and several more fine showings so far this season despite minor injury issues.

United are planning to add to their midfield this summer as Casemiro moves on, and new developments around Adams mean they have a clear path to signing him ahead of next season

Man United should sign Tyler Adams – he has a clear affection for the club

The Mail have reported this week that United are still monitoring Adams’ situation at Bournemouth after he returned to action last month following a serious knee injury sustained at Old Trafford in December.

It is thought that Adams would be a cheaper option than some of the other midfield targets being considered by the club, such as Elliot Anderson, Carlos Baleba and Adam Wharton, at around £40million.

The 27-year-old is a reliable midfield operator in the Premier League and has better clearance and interception per game stats than all three of those players, as well as better successful tackle per game stats than Baleba.

Not only that, but Adams would clearly be open to joining the Red Devils, and may well invite their interest this summer after what he recently told the Men in Blazers podcast about the injury he picked up at Old Trafford.

Speaking last week, he said: “I’m in a good spot. There was a longer timetable on the injury when it first happened, but I’ve come back a little bit earlier.

“It wasn’t ideal. You dream of nights playing at Old Trafford against Man United. Those are the biggest games you can play in the Premier League, and something like that happens.

Adams clearly wants to be playing at the top level, and for United no less, which should draw the club towards signing him as he likely to give his all and could even become a cult hero at Old Trafford.

United may look at Amadou Onana deal amid Adams interest

The Red Devils have several midfielders on their radar ahead of the summer window, and the eventual signings are likely to come after they decide on appointing a new permanent manager.

As well as Adams and the other three players mentioned, Aston Villa man Onana is also believed to be a target for United.

Sources have told Football Insider that Villa will demand £50m for Onana this summer, so he would likely still be more expensive than Adams.

The Belgian international has made 26 appearances in all competitions and started 16 league games for the Villans in their quest to finish in the top five this season.
