Mills hails Alioski ‘offer’ after latest Leeds contract twist

Ezgjan Alioski is in no rush to decide his future after Leeds United submitted a fresh contract offer.

That is the view of ex-Whites and England defender Danny Mills, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the North Macedonia international.

This site revealed on Friday (June 4) Leeds have presented Alioski with a new and improved deal as they pull out all the stops to keep him at Elland Road.

The 29-year-old had verbally agreed a contract with Galatasaray in March ahead of his United deal expiring this month.

He is currently away on international duty as North Macedonia prepare for the European Championships.

Asked whether he will want to sort out his future before the tournament begins later this week, Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “I don’t think players are hugely concerned about getting things sorted in this day and age.

“They’re very aware of what’s going on. I don’t see it as a problem either way. They’ll have people around them doing it. They’ll be on the phone all the time and technology means you can be up to date with everything.

“He’s got an offer which is the most important thing and that obviously gives him the opportunity to stay, if he wants to.”

Alioski spent the majority of the season playing as a left-back for Leeds United as they secured a ninth-place Premier League finish.

Football Insider revealed on June 2 that Leeds had registered their interest in Huesca left-back Javi Galan and have made a new left-back a top transfer priority.
