Next Tottenham manager: Harry Redknapp odds slashed after Igor Tudor sack update

Harry Redknapp has seen his odds slashed to become the next Tottenham Hotspur manager, with Igor Tudor under heavy pressure.

The current interim boss has lost all three of his matches in charge so far, which has seen Spurs fall to within one point of the relegation zone.

As a result, calls for Tudor to be sacked already are rife, with the North London club’s Premier League survival potentially on the line.

Now, one of the UK’s leading bookmakers have priced Redknapp as 33/1 for a shock return as Tottenham manager, with Oddschecker confirming on 6 March that these odds have been slashed.

Harry Redknapp appointment would be a serious Tottenham risk

Despite all of the good work Redknapp previously oversaw at Spurs, his appointment would no doubt be a risk.

The 79-year-old has not managed a club since Birmingham City, in what was a short 13-match spell back in 2017.

As a result, a return would mark his first job in the dugout in nearly nine years.

While an old head returning to a club in crisis has worked at places like Celtic this year, with Martin O’Neill finding success in Scotland, the Northern Irishman had only been out of work for six years.

Therefore, with how much the game has evolved since Redknapp’s last appearance in the dugout, it remains to be seen if Tottenham would be willing to take such a risk, especially with Premier League survival on the line.

Who else is linked to Tottenham?

Football Insider recently revealed that Tottenham could sack Tudor if the club continues to get closer to the relegation zone.

As a result, many other managers have been tipped to take over next, including Mauricio Pochettino, who is the current favourite at 1/1.

Following this is Roberto De Zerbi at 5/1 after he left Marseille earlier this campaign.

A return to Spurs is not ruled out for Robbie Keane, who is currently 8/1 to take over.

Potential outsiders include Marco Rose and Scott Parker at 10/1 and 12/1.

The latter has proven to be a Championship expert in recent years despite his failures in the Premier League.

Therefore, Parker may be best suited to drag Tottenham out of the second tier if they do drop.
