Brilliant teen will be a first teamer for years: Three things we learned about Rangers from win over Partick
McCrorie could be in Rangers defence for years
Anyone that’s followed the Under-20 side will know all about Ross McCrorie.
The defender has been, alongside twin Robby, one of the stand-outs for Graeme Murty’s side.
Cool in the ball and solid in the tackle, McCrorie has come on leaps and bounds in the last few seasons and made a fantastic first-team debut against Partick last night.
The 19-year-old marshalled Conor Samman better than Bruno Alves or Fabio Cardoso managed all night and it was his tackle which led to Rangers’ third goal.
Had he not been out on loan last season when David Bates stepped up to the first-team, it is certain it would have been McCrorie instead.
Caixinha called McCrorie the “future” of Scottish football in his post-match interview on BT Sport and we fully agree with his assessment.
The brilliant teen will surely make life a bit more difficult for Danny Wilson in his quest to return to the starting XI.
