Revealed: The stats vs Man City that just saw Elliot Anderson’s price tag soar further
Nottingham Forest will happily add another zero to Elliot Anderson’s summer price tag after his staggering performance against Manchester City on Wednesday.
Vitor Pereira’s side came from behind twice to draw 2-2 at the Etihad Stadium, earning a huge point in their fight for Premier League safety.
Morgan Gibbs-White’s ingenious back heel brought the visitors level after Antoine Semenyo had opened the scoring, before Rodri put Man City back ahead in the second half.
Anderson has been talked up as a potential replacement for Rodri, and the 23-year-old showed why when he hammered in a stunning strike to equalise once more.
Man City’s chances of winning the Premier League have narrowed in the wake of the result, which has left them seven points behind leaders Arsenal.

VISIT THE FOREST MATCH HUBThe stats behind Elliot Anderson’s performance
Football Insider exclusively revealed last month that Anderson is a Manchester United target, and that interest is shared by several other teams.
And it is easy to see why. The 23-year-old has developed significantly since making the move to Nottingham Forest in 2024, and this season, he has looked like a different player.
| Elliot Anderson | Premier League 2025-26 |
| Appearances | 29 |
| Goals | 2 |
| Assists | 2 |
| Chances created | 42 |
| Successful dribbles | 38 |
| Duels won | 239 |
| Recoveries | 243 |
Despite the difficulties at the City Ground, Anderson has consistently proved a shining light, seemingly impressing every single time he touches the pitch.
With the Englishman expected to go to the World Cup with England this summer, and in all likelihood, start in the midfield, there is already an expectation that he will not leave Nottingham Forest for a fee below at least £80million.
His goal was the standout on Wednesday, but, as usual, Anderson was everywhere. The midfielder also created a big chance, completed two successful dribbles and won two free-kicks.
It was his defensive work that stood out, though. The 23-year-old made five tackles, two clearances, six recoveries and won a massive 11 duels on the night.
Where could Anderson end up this summer?
Man United are currently the favourites to sign Anderson, although the midfielder’s performances are likely to see him handed several options.
The question mark that remains is how potential relegation may affect the 23-year-old’s future.
Regardless, an exit this summer appears to be on the way for the England international, and his current trajectory appears to be pointing towards Manchester.
Should the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea throw their hats in the ring, however, Anderson could be faced with a difficult decision.
