Richard Keys launches staggering attack on Harry Redknapp amid Tottenham return developments
Richard Keys has urged Tottenham to avoid hiring former boss Harry Redknapp as a replacement for under-fire interim manager Igor Tudor.
Tudor is facing increasing doubts as Spurs boss after their 5-2 thrashing at the hands of Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
He has lost all four of his first games in charge since replacing Thomas Frank on a short-term contract, with Redknapp touted as a potential replacement in North London.
BeIN Sports presenter Keys has urged Tottenham against handing Redknapp the job on X, saying: “He’s trying like a bear to get it, but if Spurs gave ‘Arry (Redknapp) the job now they’d cross the line between music hall farce and full on circus. Ask QPR and Birmingham City fans if they would. Both went down. Both went bankrupt. Oh – so did Southampton and Portsmouth.”
Tottenham may well need a new manager soon if they continue to flail under Tudor, and Redknapp has admitted that he is open to returning to the club.

Redknapp held the reins at Tottenham between 2008 and 2012, winning the Premier League Manager of the Year award in 2010 and leading the club to two fourth-placed finishes in three years.
He went on to manage QPR, Jordan and Birmingham City over the next five years, but has not been in the dugout since leaving St Andrew’s in 2017.
Speaking this week with the Press Association, the 79-year-old refused to rule out a return to Spurs and insisted that he is open to the job, but admitted that it seems unlikely to happen.
He said: “I’ve been asked a few times if I’d go back to Spurs, and it’s probably not going to happen, is it? Would I go back? Of course I would, but I doubt very much it’s going to happen.

Redknapp added that Tottenham “haven’t been in touch, not at all,” and went on to admit that he feels it is “going to be tough” for Tudor’s side to avoid relegation.
Who are other potential candidates to replace Tudor as Spurs boss?
Premier League experience could be the way forward for Spurs to keep them out of the relegation zone, with Tudor failing to get a tune out of any of his players so far.
Sources have told Football Insider that Sam Allardyce could be a contender for Tottenham if they decide to sack Tudor.
Glenn Hoddle and Tim Sherwood are known to be interested in the role, alongside Redknapp, but Sean Dyche is the current odds-on favourite for the job with one of the UK’s leading bookmakers.
Mauricio Pochettino is the second favourite at odds of 4/1, while Redknapp is priced as a leading contender at 5/1.
Other candidates, according to the bookies, include Roberto De Zerbi (8/1), Robbie Keane (8/1) and Ryan Mason (10/1).
