Sam Johnstone tipped to usurp Hugo Lloris at Tottenham by ex-goalkeeper
Sam Johnstone could replace Hugo Lloris as the number one goalkeeper at Tottenham.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the West Brom stopper’s future.
On Sunday (3 April) Football Insider revealed Tottenham are keeping close tabs on Johnstone, 29, and he has told friends he wants to join the Londoners if a deal can be agreed this summer.

The Londoners are in the market for a new keeper even though Hugo Lloris signed a new contract in January that runs until the summer of 2024.
As revealed by Football Insider last month, Spurs have no plans to convert Pierluigi Gollini’s loan into a permanent deal.
Kenny has admitted he is a fan of Johnstone.
“I was really impressed with him last season, he was the one positive in that season for West Brom,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“He’s in the England squad now as well which is great. West Brom have struggled this season so I don’t think there is any way he stays.
“I like him, he’s a brilliant goalkeeper. He is also of the quality where he could put pressure on Lloris.
“That’s what Conte wants because whoever is there now is not pushing Lloris for that starting spot.
“It would be a transfer that appeals to Johnstone as well.”

Johnstone was named West Brom’s Supporters’ Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year for last season’s 2020-21 campaign.
Johnstone has made 36 appearances in the Championship this season.
