Sources: Liverpool expected to complete defender signing amid Conor Bradley injury verdict

Liverpool are likely to be forced into adding a new right-back to their squad ahead of next season, sources have told Football Insider.

Arne Slot has resorted to using makeshift options in that position since the start of the campaign, and it is understood that the recruitment team are already working to identify summer targets in that area of the pitch.

Conor Bradley has been out of action with a knee injury since 8 January, and sources say that the exact timeframe of his likely lay-off remains unknown at Anfield at the moment.

Jeremie Frimpong has also spent time on the treatment table on several occasions during his debut season on Merseyside, and that looks set to force the recruitment team into action this summer.

Calvin Ramsay has no future at Liverpool

Bradley and Frimpong have both endured hugely disrupted seasons, and as a result, Slot has been forced to find makeshift alternatives from within his squad.

Dominik Szboszlai and Curtis Jones have both regularly been used in the right-back role, but that detracts from the options that are available in the middle of the pitch at the same time.

Fans have been calling for young Scottish full-back Calvin Ramsay to be given a chance to impress, but Slot has continually turned down the chance to throw the 22-year-old in at the deep end this term.

Ramsay has still only made four senior appearances for Liverpool since his arrival from Aberdeen in January 2022, and Slot has made it clear that he has no long-term future at Anfield.

The fact that the Reds are set to enter the market for a new addition in that area of the pitch is further evidence of that, and could drive Ramsay to potentially look for a move of him own before next season gets underway.

Liverpool’s Mateus Mane stance transfer revealed

Football Insider revealed last week that Liverpool will not meet Wolves’ £50million asking price for Wolves starlet Mateus Mane this summer.

The Reds are ready to battle Manchester United for the signature of the 18-year-old attacking midfielder, and Wolves have slapped a big price tag on his head as a result of the interest that has built up.

Both Premier League giants are expected to test their resolve ahead of next season, but neither will stretch their interest to an offer in the region of £50m.

Mane has rapidly become one of the Premier League’s brightest emerging talents in recent months, but he is seen as being too raw to justify such a sizeable fee at the moment.
