Sources: Man United make Amad Diallo transfer plan as new signings accelerated

Manchester United have no plans to sell Amad Diallo in the summer transfer window and have high hopes for his continued development.

The 23-year-old has been left out of the starting XI in recent clashes against Crystal Palace and Newcastle, leading to questions about his role in the side.

However, as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Amad remains an important player in Michael Carrick’s plans.

The decision to drop him out of the starting XI was due to the form of Benjamin Sesko rather than any slight on his performances, and Carrick is a big fan.

The Red Devils are also limited in wide areas and the Ivory Coast international is seen as a valuable asset, even with Man United accelerating their transfer plans.

Man United make Amad Diallo transfer plan

Football Insider revealed on 6 March that Amad is keen to stay at Man United, despite a cryptic social media post which appeared to hint at an exit.

Taking to his social media pages, the Ivory Coast international shared a cryptic message: “What is meant to grow does not stay in the same place forever.”

However, there are no immediate concerns about his future at Old Trafford, with the players happy to remain while United have no plans to let him go.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “Amad is highly-regarded at Old Trafford.

He’s been a regular in the side this season as well and he has been since Michael Carrick took charge, but he was just left out against Palace and Newcastle.

“That was due to the form of Benjamin Sesko, Carrick felt like he needed to get Sesko into the team and Amad was the one to drop out of the starting lineup.

“But he came off the bench in both games and I don’t think there’s any concern that he could possibly leave Man United any time soon.

“He’s under a long-term contract until 2030 and he’s probably the only out-and-out winger they’ve got in the squad at the moment as well.

“So I don’t think United are planning to let him leave any time soon, he is seen as the future of the club and has a key role to play going forward.”

Man United plan to open Kobbie Mainoo talks

Amad is not the only player Man United are keen to keep hold of beyond the end of the season, with Kobbie Mainoo’s future becoming a key focus.

His current contract is set to expire in 2027 and he will have one year remaining in the summer, but talks are expected to take place before the window opens.

Football Insider revealed on 6 March that Man United are confident of keeping Mainoo and believe he will sign a new contract before too long.

The 20-year-old has returned to the starting XI under Carrick and proved once again how important he can be in the centre of midfield.

Talks had stalled over the offer of a new deal due to his previous lack of playing time, but there is a growing feeling that all parties are keen to extend his stay.
