Supercomputer drops new Tottenham Premier League relegation prediction after Crystal Palace defeat

Tottenham Hotspur have seen the odds of them being relegated increase dramatically after their 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace.

It was another terrible performance for Igor Tudor’s side as Micky van de Ven’s red card helped see Spurs’ 1-0 lead collapse.

As a result, Tottenham remain one point above the relegation zone after West Ham’s victory and Nottingham Forest’s draw on Wednesday.

Now, Opta on 5 March believes that their chances of relegation have dramatically increased to 14.13 per cent, having previously been around seven per cent.

What would be a remarkable Tottenham relegation, given their stature and resources, has been a serious concern for weeks, but now, the possibility looks more real than ever.

West Ham remain favourites to finish 18th in the Premier League

Despite Tottenham’s decline and West Ham United’s resurgence in form, the latter remains the heavy favourite to join Wolverhampton Wanderers and Burnley in the Championship.

Opta has insisted that the Hammers have a 49.82 per cent chance of relegation, even though they are only in the relegation zone on goal-difference.

Following this is Nottingham Forest, who have a 28.16 per cent chance of finishing in the bottom three, despite Vitor Pereira not winning a single Premier League game this season.

However, Leeds United now have a smaller chance of getting relegated than Spurs at 8.29 per cent.

After this, the rest of the Premier League sides have less than a 0.04 per cent chance of going down.

Who are the favourites to win the Premier League title?

Earlier this season, Keith Wyness exclusively told Football Insider that Arsenal would win the league, and this prediction looks set to come true.

The Gunners are now 94.16 per cent likely to end their wait for a top-flight trophy after their 1-0 victory over Brighton on Wednesday

Manchester City’s 2-2 draw to Forest has massively damaged their chances, which now sit at just 5.84 per cent, making them heavily unlikely to catch Arsenal.

Every other club in the division has a zero per cent chance, with Opta believing the title is now Arsenal’s to lose.

However, it remains to be seen if the Gunners can win the league under Mikel Arteta, which would no doubt be a season to celebrate for their fans, especially if this is complemented by Spurs’ relegation to the Championship.
