Chris Sutton demands apology from Rangers fans after huge Twitter spat

Chris Sutton has demanded an apology from Rangers fans after a spat erupted on Twitter on Thursday.

It all stemmed from a tweet Sutton sent wishing Frank Lampard and Jody Morris good luck at Derby after the former Chelsea legend took over as their new manager.

He added it was “exciting times ahead at Derby”, which sent the Rangers fans flocking onto Twitter to take the Celtic supporter to task over perceived bias.

Sutton retweeted a couple of posts from Rangers fans, along with another that we couldn’t post on here because of the language. And there were plenty more of them.

In the end, he decided to dig through his Twitter history to try to put a stop to it.

He managed to locate the tweet where he said it was “Very courageous of Steven Gerrard taking the rangers job. Good luck to him! Brilliant news for the Scottish game.”

At the time of writing this, no apologies have been forthcoming from Rangers fans.
