Tavernier delivers verdict on Rangers striker Morelos after £9m offer reportedly incoming
James Tavernier has said that striker Alfredo Morelos “always has goals in him” ahead of the club’s Premiership game against Hamilton on Sunday.
Morelos has been on fire in his first season in Scotland, with 15 goals in 30 games and 11 in 24 in the league.
And, after signing a new contract with the club yesterday, Tavernier was quick to praise him while talking in the pre-match press conference.
The quotes were tweeted on the official Rangers twitter site on Thursday lunchtime.
However, Morelos’ form has attracted huge interest from China and Rangers reportedly turned down an £8million offer in January.
However, that might not be the end of it as Football Insider exclusively revealed today that Beijing Renhe are set to table an improved bid for Rangers star Alfredo Morelos of £9million.
Tavernier also said that he’s been giving the striker “pelters” after a horrific miss against Ayr United in the 6-1 thrashing.
He somehow managed to scoop the ball over the bar from a couple of yards out with the goalkeeper stranded, although to be fair to him the ball did bobble.
