Tottenham fans all say the same about Dele Alli’s ‘magical’ return as former star trains at Hotspur Way
Tottenham Hotspur supporters have made their feelings clear on re-signing Dele Alli after the latest update from Hotspur Way.
The 29-year-old is currently without a club, having only made one appearance for Como in Serie A before his contract expired, returning to North London for training while he searches for a new club.
Alli made a total of 269 appearances for the Lilywhites until departing in January 2022, joining Everton, Besiktas and, most recently, Como, for a very short six-month spell.
His career has been plagued by injuries, while also coming out about his personal trauma away from the sport, but ahead of the winter transfer window, Football Insider revealed Championship interest in Alli.

Igor Tudor is currently dealing with multiple big injuries, as well as potential relegation from the Premier League, with James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski and Mohammed Kudus still sidelined.
The former player has been training at Hotspur Way, with one fan saying that Alli would currently be “Tottenham’s best player” should they sign him, with another suggesting a “pay as you play” contract.
A third fan believes that Alli’s return to Hotspur Way on a permanent basis would be “magical,” pushing hard for the club to sign him as a free agent.
- @timhelley: “Spurs, get him a short contract, will you? What’s the worst that can happen?”
- @sam433458: “He’d currently be Tottenham’s best player btw.”
- @IamSarafadeen: “Dele Alli training at Tottenham shows how former clubs can support players maintaining fitness while navigating free agency.”
What has Alli said about his stalled career?
Alli was welcomed to North London last month for Spurs’ clash with Arsenal, addressing the supporters on the pitch during the half-time break.
Speaking from the heart, he said: “I can’t wait to get back on the pitch playing, hopefully it won’t be too long now. I hope you’ve missed me as much as I’ve missed you.
“A lot has happened in our journeys since we were last together, but I’m back today, and I hope you know that you’ll always be my family.”
Given his lack of football over the last few seasons, it would be an incredibly difficult transition back to Premier League football, but it might be a different situation should the club be relegated.
A return to Tottenham could be on the cards should they be playing Championship football next season, but it remains to be seen what his future holds as he continues to work his way back to full fitness.
