Tottenham owners want to bring in investor with ‘really deep pockets’ after Amanda Staveley latest
Tottenham Hotspur’s ownership want to keep control of the club and only sell a minority share to a new investor.
That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, as former Newcastle co-owner Amanda Staveley looks to buy the club.
Staveley reportedly has over £3billion in funding to buy Spurs through her consortium, PCP Capital Partners, but the Lewis Family Trust do not wish to relinquish their majority stake.
Spurs, who will face a financial blow if relegated from the Premier League, have made changes behind the scenes this season following the departure of former executive chairman Daniel Levy.

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – doesn’t think £3bn is enough for Staveley to buy Spurs.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness believes the ownership will want an investor with deeper pockets.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Well, I was just speaking to somebody about this yesterday, actually, and it’s interesting.
“This story has been rumbling on for a while that Amanda’s been looking at Spurs and had talks with Daniel Levy and all sorts of things. So it has been rumbling on.
“I don’t think £3billion is enough to buy control from the Lewis family. I think the Lewis family would probably be more interested in bringing in a partner and perhaps selling a minority share to get some cash in potentially.
“Or else, I think that they are looking to partner with a much stronger financial partner rather than somebody like Amanda who’s been able to raise the money together. I think they’re looking for somebody with really deep pockets to join them and maximise the value of Spurs.”

Tottenham facing £60m loss
Sources have told Football Insider that Spurs would lose £60million in revenue instantly if they are relegated from the Premier League.
Spurs would face a drop in broadcast and matchday revenue, and could face challenges attracting new sponsors to the club.
The north London club are hovering above the Premier League relegation zone, and could be relegated to the second tier for the first time since 1977.
