Arne Slot reveals Florian Wirtz injury timeline as Liverpool update emerges ahead of Wolves
Arne Slot has revealed the likelihood of Florian Wirtz featuring for Liverpool against Wolves at Molineux Stadium.
The 22-year-old missed the dramatic 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest with a back injury, with Dominik Szoboszlai occupying his role as the Reds hammered West Ham on Saturday, 28 February.
With Slot‘s side putting five goals past the Hammers, they had no trouble producing chances at Anfield, but there is concern over the attacking midfielder’s progress on the treatment table.
Despite a slow start to England, Wirtz now has six goals and six assists across all competitions, becoming an undroppable figure on Merseyside, so Slot will be desperate to welcome him back from injury.
Luckily for the team at the bottom of the Premier League table, he might be missing for another game.

Liverpool are set to face Rob Edwards‘ side on Tuesday, 3 March, but the game could come too soon for the talented international, who is without a goal contribution in his last three appearances.
Speaking in his post-match press conference, Slot was quizzed about Wirtz’s return, clarifying: “I think that will be too early,” when asked if he would feature against Wolves.
While he did follow that up by saying that the decision will be “tight” ahead of kick-off, it does not sound as though the German international will be at 100 per cent ahead of the clash.
The Reds have more than enough talent to secure three points against Wolves, even without Wirtz in attack, but victory could be crucial in the race for Champions League football.
Should Liverpool be concerned by Wirtz’s injury history?
There are certainly a lot of pages when it comes to Wirtz’s problems on the pitch, but looking at the length of each, he is never really away from the pitch for long.
During the 2021-22 campaign at Bayer Leverkusen, the playmaker missed 43 games for club and country with a cruciate ligament tear, but that was a freak injury for the youngster.
Since then, his longest spell on the sidelines has been seven games, mainly missing one or two games with very minor problems.
So in short, no. Liverpool fans should not be too worried about his issues, but with a top-four position on the line, those at Anfield are obviously desperate for him to get back on the pitch.
