Pundit shares ‘big’ Alexander Isak claim amid Newcastle United injury latest
Newcastle United could explode in the second half of the season once their key players return from injury.
That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the current injuries at St James’ Park.
Newcastle United have been without Alexander Isak for their last five Premier League games after he picked up a muscle injury while on international duty.

As per BBC Sport (18 October), the 23-year-old has been ruled out until after the Qatar World Cup in what is another injury blow to Eddie Howe with Allan Saint-Maximin also suffering a setback in his recovery.
Newcastle face some tricky games before the World Cup, including a visit to Tottenham (23 October) and a home clash against Chelsea (12 November).
McManus can’t wait to see how Newcastle look after the World Cup.
“When the season resumes you would like to think that all of these players will be fit,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.
“Isak, Saint-Maximin and probably Wilson won’t go to the World Cup so they can work on whatever injuries they have to be ready for when the season starts again.
“Newcastle have done all of this without Isak and he was the big signing from the summer. So once he gets firing, he is a player who can make the difference.
“He looked so bright in those first couple of games so you add him into this Newcastle side and that’s only a good thing.
“I am sure he is going to be a big player for them.”

Isak scored twice in three games for the Magpies before getting injured.
He was signed to aid the injury-prone Callum Wilson, who has scored three times this season.
