Supercomputer predicts Premier League relegation race after West Ham and Tottenham developments

Tottenham Hotspur remain in with a chance to be relegated from the Premier League this season if results do not rapidly improve.

The Lilywhites were beaten by Fulham on Saturday, marking a fourth consecutive Premier League loss and second straight defeat under new interim manager Igor Tudor.

Harry Wilson and Alex Iwobi’s goals had the visitors behind midway through the first half, before Richarlison’s goal mounted a late Tottenham scurry.

Ultimately, though, Tudor’s side were unable to produce any clear chances to equalise, and have kept their place just four points from the drop zone.

Tottenham are in serious relegation danger in what would undoubtedly be a disaster on all fronts for the club.

Supercomputer updates Premier League relegation prediction

Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider that Tottenham would instantly lose £75million if they are relegated.

And along with the devastating financial ramifications, the Lilywhites would be likely to lose several key players.

The likes of Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero would surely be among the first out of the doors, and many would follow.

Premier League – bottom fivePointsGoal difference
Tottenham29-5
Nottingham Forest27-15
West Ham25-20
Burnley19-24
Wolves13-31

Such a situation sounds surreal, yet with every passing game, it is rapidly becoming a more and more feasible reality.

The same can be said of Premier League stalwarts West Ham, who have been in strong form recently, but were smashed 5-2 by Liverpool on Saturday.

Time is running out for the Hammers, who face a two-point deficit to Nottingham Forest and a difficult run to the end of the season.

Opta‘s supercomputer has handed Tottenham a 5.02 per cent chance of relegation, while West Ham remain a strong favourite with a 69.63 per cent chance.

The games that could make or break Tottenham’s Premier League stay

The visit of Crystal Palace to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday would appear to be the perfect opportunity for points, but home form has been a killer for Tottenham this season.

Nottingham Forest, Brighton, Leeds United and Everton are still due to visit North London this season, and Tudor will hope that he can transform the stadium.

Away, Tottenham will play Liverpool, Sunderland, Wolves, Aston Villa and Chelsea. A difficult run of games.

At this stage of the season, with the Lilywhites in the position that they are, each and every point will be utterly vital.
