Carlos Alcaraz sends Everton message after dramatic impact
Carlos Alcaraz has shared an upbeat message to fans after Everton’s crucial 2-1 Premier League win over Crystal Palace on Saturday (February 15).
The 22-year-old scored his first goal since joining on loan from Brazilian side Flamengo in the January transfer window, earning the Player of the Match award.
Beto opened the scoring for the visitors in the 42nd minute after Alcaraz pounced on a defensive miscommunication between two Palace defenders, allowing the in-form striker to slot past Dean Henderson.
Palace forward Jean-Philippe Mateta restored parity just after half-time after Everton were unable to clear their lines from a free-kick.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, PGMOL chief, and ex-FIFA official Keith Hackett questioned why it took VAR so long to allow Mateta’s Crystal Palace equaliser.
Alcaraz got the winner in the 80th minute, sending Everton up to 14th, level on points with Palace with 30 from their 25 games.
