Exclusive: Hull City star set to start vs Sunderland out for three months
Hull City loanee Carl Rushworth faces up to ten weeks out of action after suffering an ankle injury, sources have told Football Insider.
The 23-year-old, who is on loan from Brighton, could be out of action until the New Year after suffering an ankle injury in training.
Rushworth, who joined Hull on transfer deadline day, was in line to make his Tigers debut in this weekend’s clash with Sunderland on Sunday (October 20), but will now be forced to sit on the sidelines.
The youngster is now Hull City’s third injured goalkeeper, joining Thimothee Lo-Tutala and Harvey Cartwright, both sidelined until at least the end of October.
Carl Rushworth set for a lengthy spell on Hull City sidelines
The former England Under-21 international recorded 11 clean sheets in 48 appearances and was named both Supporters’ and Players’ Player of the Season for his standout performances while on loan at Swansea last season.
Rushworth didn’t miss a minute of Swansea’s 2023-24 Championship campaign but is yet to make it off the bench for Hull City.
The shot-stopper has been named in the squad just four times for the East Yorkshire club, with Tim Walter favoring Ivor Pandur as his first-choice goalkeeper.

Hull City have had a mixed start to the season, currently sitting 13th in the table with three wins, three draws, and three defeats from their first nine games.
Walter’s side won’t have it any easier after their clash with league leaders Sunderland, as they next face a visit from freshly relegated Burnley.
