Man United exodus intensifies as superstars follow Marcus Rashford through exit door

Manchester United’s exodus is intensifying with a cabal of superstars to follow Marcus Rashford through the exit door, sources have told Football Insider.

Rashford is expected to complete a loan move to Barcelona in the coming days, ending his 20-year stay at Old Trafford.

The Spanish giants will pay all of the 27-year-old’s wages, and there is an option-to-buy clause included in the deal.

However, sources say that despite the financial burden of the winger’s wages being lifted, United still need to get rid of some of their big-name players not wanted by Ruben Amorim.

Man United need to sell before they can buy

Man United look to have finally managed to offload Rashford, who has not been part of Ruben Amorim’s plans ever since the Portuguese manager took over.

However, the likes of fellow superstars Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, and Antony still need to be sold before the Red Devils can dip back into the transfer market.

Amorim is desperate to bring in a new number nine to join forces with Matheus Cunha and the recently signed Bryan Mbeumo.

Until the Manchester side are rid of some of their unwanted players though, they are unlikely to have much power in the transfer market to acquire their centre-forward targets.

Douglas Luiz update emerges as United race Everton and Forest

Meanwhile, Man United have set their sights on strengthening their midfield, with Douglas Luiz now on their radar.

Football Insider exclusively revealed on 15 July that Man United have registered their interest in Luiz and are keen to beat rivals to his signature this summer.

Everton are also keen on the 27-year-old, who has four years remaining on his current contract but could leave Italy with a return to the Premier League a possibility.

In addition, Mick Brown told Football Insider in March that Nottingham Forest are keen to sign Luiz after keeping tabs on his progress as his agent continues to offer his services.
