‘Man United consider audacious Benjamin Sesko move amid Gyokeres blow’
Arsenal’s significant advances for Viktor Gyokeres have opened the door for Man United to make a swoop for Benjamin Sesko.
The Gunners had been torn over whether to sign the Sporting hotshot or the Leipzig striker, while Ruben Amorim desperately has to strengthen his attack after the Red Devils finished 15th in the Premier League last season.
But Arsenal are now set to sign Gyokeres, whose presence up front could help the North Londoners beat defending champions Liverpool to the top-flight title.
Meanwhile, Man United are still seeking an upgrade on Rasmus Hojlund, who scored just four goals in the Premier League last season.

Man United tipped to make Sesko swoop amid summer rebuild
Before losing out to Arsenal, Man United were interested in Gyokeres, who worked effectively under Amorim at Sporting.
But now that the Sweden star is set to join the Gunners, the Red Devils must turn their attention elsewhere, and could make their advance for Sesko, who will no longer move to the Emirates Stadium.
Reporting via BBC Sport‘s live transfer Q&A [7 July, 3.42 pm], Phil McNulty wrote: “Maybe they could get themselves in a position to try and entice Benjamin Sesko, but RB Leipzig are demanding huge money.
“It is going to be a summer of transition rather than widespread dismantling at Old Trafford because so much needs to be done, but I do believe United are in serious need of a quality central striker.
“Rasmus Hojlund has not proved up to the job.”

Sesko could snub Amorim
Football Insider verdict
As reported by McNulty, Leipzig will not part company with Sesko easily and will demand a large fee should Man United make an advance for the 22-year-old.
Benjamin Sesko stats | All competitions 2024/25 |
Appearances | 45 |
Goals | 21 |
Assists | 6 |
After scoring 21 goals in 45 appearances across all competitions last season, the Slovenia international has proven that he could be an ideal Gyokeres alternative for Amorim’s men.
However, Sesko may not be keen on a move to the North West club because Leipzig finished just one point adrift of the European spots in the Bundesliga, whereas Man United finished three places above the Premier League relegation zone.
Furthermore, the former Liefering man could be wary of the fact that Jadon Sancho has struggled for the Red Devils after shining in the German top flight for Borussia Dortmund.
At 22 years old, Sesko boasts plenty of potential, but he should be concerned that Man United may not be the best destination for him to further develop.
