Tottenham ace posts Twitter message ahead of crucial International fixtures
By Amir Mir
Tottenham ace Kyle Walker has posted a Twitter message posing with Dele Alli and Jermain Defoe ahead of the crucial England fixtures against Germany and Lithuania.
Gareth Southgate’s side will line-up against their old enemies on Wednesday night in an international friendly where pride will be at stake.
The last time England played Germany was three months before Euro 2016 when Roy Hodgson guided his team to an impressive 3-2 victory over Joachim Low’s side.
During that match, Harry Kane and Eric Dier got on the scoresheet, with the latter scoring a stoppage time winner after his side were 2-0 down after 57 minutes.
Nonetheless, ahead of yet another mouthwatering tie, Walker posted this message on his personal Twitter account.
England’s strike force has been hit by a number of injuries and out of form players which could pave the way for Defoe to start on Wednesday night.
The 34-year-old was recalled by Southgate onto the international circuit after a number of years in the wilderness.
The White Hart Lane favourite has been in impressive form for the past two seasons despite his current side, Sunderland, battling for relegation.
During this campaign, he has scored 14 goals in 28 Premier League appearances for the Black Cats, who are sitting bottom of the Premier League table.
After the game against the German’s, Southgate’s side will take on Lithuania in a World Cup qualifier four days later at Wembley.
In other Tottenham news, Dele Alli would start ahead of this overrated Arsenal man in this combined Germany and England XI.
