Graham Potter set to oversee rebuild after difficult start to West Ham tenure

Football Insider Verdict

In spite of his miserable start to life in East London, which has seen the Hammers sink to 17th in the Premier League table, Potter has retained the backing of the West Ham board.

The 49-year-old is a project manager who thrives when enacting his style of play and recruitment over a longer period of time.

With plenty of more senior players such as Cresswell and Ings leaving for free this summer, Potter’s project will truly start to take shape this summer.

Kyle Macaulay has joined from Chelsea to add support to the recruitment process this summer, giving the former Swansea manager an added element of control over transfers.

However, should the poor performances continue into next season, it is difficult to see Potter lasting until the end of the season.
