Brian Brobbey ‘unhappy’ at Sunderland: ‘He had the hump vs Bournemouth despite winner’
Brian Brobbey scored the winner for Sunderland in a stunning 3-2 win over Bournemouth at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.
Sunderland signed Brobbey from Ajax in the summer, with the striker experiencing a slow start to his career in the Premier League.
The Dutchman is yet to start a league game for the Black Cats, but has recently managed to make an impact off the bench.
When Sunderland beat Chelsea 2-1 at Stamford Bridge at the end of October, it was Brobbey who held the ball up before laying it off for Chemsdine Talbi’s winner.
And before the international break, the 23-year-old scored a stoppage-time equaliser as Sunderland drew 2-2 with Arsenal.

‘You can tell Brian Brobbey wants to be starting’
Sunderland lost 1-0 to Fulham last week, and fans would have been fearing the worst when Regis Le Bris‘ side went 2-0 down against Bournemouth.
Amine Adli and Tyler Adams put the Cherries into a commanding lead after just 15 minutes of action, with the Black Cats seemingly having no response.

But when Alex Scott brought down Reinildo inside the box, Enzo Le Fee was on hand to convert the penalty and give the home side a lifeline before the break.
Bertrand Traore would put Sunderland back on terms immediately in the second half, leaving the stage set for Brobbey to nod home the winner, just six minutes after his introduction.
Speaking after the game, Tim Sherwood told Sky Sports News: “Brobbey comes onto the pitch – he makes good changes at the right time, Regis Le Bris – he comes on the with the hump.
“You can tell he wants to be starting, [Wilson] Isidor‘s starting up front. He hasn’t cracked a smile. When he scores the goal, I mean it’s a decent header from the corner.”
“He comes on, he doesn’t sulk,” the former Tottenham manager added. “You know he’s unhappy but he rolls his sleeves up and says: ‘I’m going to show you that I’m good enough to play in this team and I want to start the game,’ and he scores the winning goal.”
Tim Sherwood slams Tim Robinson
Saturday’s clash ended in controversy when Lewis Cook was sent off for planting an elbow into the face of Noah Sadiki.
Referee Tim Robinson dished out 11 yellow cards throughout the match, and looked to be struggling with the intensity of the game.
“The referee, Tim Robinson, loses all control of the football match in my opinion,” Sherwood said. “He’s booked 11 players and he’s sent off Lewis Cook.”
On the red card, Sherwood said the decision was “very harsh,” but Bournemouth would be unlikely to win an appeal over the incident.
