Crystal Palace make approach to sign big-name West Ham star after what Nuno said
Callum Wilson’s future at West Ham has been a hot topic throughout the January transfer window.
Despite only signing for the Hammers in the summer, the striker has struggled for starts at the London Stadium.
However, the 33-year-old became their hero on the weekend as he netted a late winner against Tottenham as West Ham won 2-1.
It ended a terrible winless run for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, and eased pressure on the manager.
As a result, Wilson now looks set to stay at West Ham despite Crystal Palace’s recent approach.
Callum Wilson set to stay at West Ham despite Crystal Palace enquiry
According to talkSPORT on 19 January, Wilson is now set to stay at West Ham.
The Hammers have performed a U-turn on his future at the East London club, despite a January exit looking extremely likely before the Tottenham match.
This is despite numerous clubs being interested in signing Wilson, including Crystal Palace, who reportedly enquired about the 33-year-old ahead of a potential deal this month.
However, the striker is now set to stay at the London Stadium beyond the January transfer window, with Wilson proving that he can still make a positive impact on Saturday.

After the match, Nuno spoke about Wilson after he netted the late winner.
He said: “I don’t have to say anything to Callum. He knows he has so much. I’m so happy for him. He gave us the winning goal, he means a lot.
“We are still in the market to bring players, we need to rebalance the squad. Rumours, rumours, rumours. We are doing things properly.
“Every player that is in the building, it’s up to us to count on them, support them, and they need to help us. They need to help the club.”
Can Wilson make a regular impact at West Ham?
Despite Wilson’s heroics on the weekend, it was a rare goal for the former Newcastle star.
The striker ended a terrible goal drought, with the goal against Spurs being his first in nine matches.
With his tally now up to five in 18 Premier League matches, many will still doubt whether he can have an impact in the second half of the season.
However, according to Fotmob on 19 January, plenty of stats suggest that the Hammers would be stupid to get rid of him.
As it stands, he is currently averaging 0.55 goals, a 0.48 xG and 2.66 shots per game.

This is far and away better than many of the Hammers’ recent strikers, with players such as Niclas Fullkrug not even close to this return before he departed for AC Milan on loan.
Therefore, there is every chance that the striker can still make a big impact before the end of the season and keep the East London club in the Premier League.
