Ezri Konsa absolutely rages at Lamare Bogarde after key incident in Basel vs Aston Villa
Ezri Konsa was clearly stressed out as Aston Villa struggled during their Europa League battle against Basel.
Villa beat Arsenal 2-1 before heading to Switzerland, throwing a huge wrench in the Gunners’ Premier League title hopes, much to the delight of Man City supporters.
Emi Buendia was the hero, netting in the fifth minute of added time, and he earned himself a start against Basel on Thursday, 11 December, but the game was far from simple for the English side.
While Villa fans have been frustrated by Evann Guessand, he was on hand in Europe again to give the Villans an expected lead, only for them to be pegged back in the 34th minute.
Youri Tielemans would net the eventual winner, but it was a stressful 2-1 win in Switzerland.
Ezri Konsa forced into a dangerous foul vs Basel
Despite being in possession at the time, Villa would go on to concede a needless free-kick in a dangerous area, and Konsa made his teammate know all about it after becoming the guilty party.
Clearly not comfortable taking the ball in the middle of the park, Lamare Bogarde gave the ball to his teammate in a difficult position, who was forced to bring down Xherdan Shaqiri.
From that free-kick, Shaqiri floated in a delivery, and with Marco Bizot lost in the middle of his penalty area, Flavius Daniliuc managed to get ahead of the goalkeeper and poke home.

It was an extremely frustrating moment for the visitors, given that it was completely avoidable, and Unai Emery will not want to watch that one back again in the changing rooms.
Lamare Bogarde’s rustiness highlighted away from Villa Park
As club captain, supporters might have expected better from the 28-year-old centre-half, but with the free-kick given away under frustrating circumstances, it is understandable.
Bogarde is rarely in the starting lineup, so his rustiness on the ball could be forgiven. If anyone is to blame for the midfielder’s struggles, some fingers might point towards Emery.
Unsurprisingly, Amadou Onana and Boubacar Kamara are the chosen midfield duo, sometimes with one replaced by Youri Tielemans, allowing very limited time for Bogarde to get valuable minutes.
That was evident in this specific moment, and it was punished by Basel. On another night, Villa might have gotten away with it, but there was no hiding from the anger and outburst on the pitch.
