‘Frimpong greets Gravenberch with a scouse accent in Liverpool transfer hint’
Jeremie Frimpong’s “strong relationships” with several Liverpool players has only increased speculation that he’s set for a move to Anfield.
Liverpool look set to be on the hunt for a new right-back this summer after Trent Alexander-Arnold’s departure from Anfield was confirmed, and Frimpong has emerged as a top target for Arne Slot.
Conor Bradley is seen by many Liverpool fans as a ready-made replacement for Alexander-Arnold and arguably a more natural fit in Slot’s defence, but the Reds boss is still keen to upgrade at right-back.
Frimpong’s release clause of just £29.6million at the BayArena has alerted Liverpool to his availability, and the Leverkusen wing-back is keen to head for pastures new in another boost for Slot this summer.
Football Insider revealed on 14 May that Frimpong has now agreed terms with Liverpool representatives with a summer transfer “certain”.
Slot has wasted no time in his pursuit of the Netherlands international.

Liverpool relationship clear between Frimpong and Gravenberch
Football Insider revealed in March that Liverpool have sought out Frimpong as Alexander-Arnold’s successor amid concerns over Bradley’s injury record, and the 24-year-old could prove to be an ideal fit.
The Athletic reported on 14 May that during the last international break on duty with the Netherlands, Frimpong greeted Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch by “putting on a scouse accent” in jest.
Furthermore, as Frimpong already has “strong relationships” with Gravenberch and his Reds team-mates Cody Gakpo and captain Virgil van Dijk, the full-back wouldn’t take long to get up to speed at Anfield.

Jeremie Frimpong transfer to kick off Liverpool rebuild
Liverpool fans have reacted with sheer excitement to the prospect of Frimpong’s move to Anfield being close, after reports in Germany surfaced that a deal could be struck between the two parties within days.
As well as Frimpong already being close to three of Liverpool‘s key players this season and a Dutch compatriot of Slot’s, his status as a homegrown player will also be an attractive prospect for the Reds.
Frimpong spent nine years at Manchester City before his moves to Celtic and Bayer Leverkusen, and with other widemen on the shortlist such as Real Madrid flyer Rodrygo,
