‘Leeds fans send 49ers major Daniel Farke sack messages at Elland Road’

Leeds United fans appear to have made their feelings clear over Daniel Farke’s future ahead of their clash against Bristol City.

The Whites have already secured their spot in the Premier League for the 2025/26 campaign, having moved five points clear of third-place Sheffield United, who only have won game left.

Also having a game in hand on Burnley, the fight is well and truly alive for who lifts the Championship title ahead of what could be a defining summer transfer window.

Despite his success at Elland Road this season, Leeds fans have raised concerns about Farke leading the team into next season due to his awful record in the top tier of English football.

The German has overseen 49 matches with Norwich City in the Premier League, notching only six wins and scoring 31 goals, so it is easy to understand why the point has been raised to 49ers Enterprises.

World-famous Jose Mourinho has even been linked with Leeds in a shock turn of events, but if Farke was ever in need of understanding where the match-going fans stood with him, it was made very clear.

Taking to X ahead of kick off (28 April), Leeds Live reporter Isaac Johnson wrote: “Big cheer from match-goers for Daniel Farke when his name is read out by the tannoy ahead of kick-off.”

Once the game had kicked off, and Leeds had scored through Ao Tanaka, Beren Cross wrote on X (28 April): “Daniel Farke’s name rings around Elland Road. He waves and gives a thumbs-up.”

Could it be any clearer? Social media is rife with frustrated and angry “fans” who are ready to complain about anything, but due to his achievements, he absolutely deserves the chance to prove himself.

The Whites missed out on promotion in very cruel circumstances, only just missing out on the automatic spots before losing the play-off final to Southampton, and it would have been easy for the manager to walk.

49ers Enterprises given early sign ahead of summer transfer window

With the summer transfer window now staring Championship clubs in the face, the owners will need to back the manager and show that they, too, have faith in him.

Pascal Struijk, Tanaka, and Wilfried Gnonto have all been linked with exits, and with Manor Solomon set to return to Tottenham, Leeds cannot afford to break up the current squad too much.

Staying in the Premier League should be the only target next season, and if the owners really believe that Farke can achieve that, a multitude of new signings will be absolutely vital.

While Farke’s record in the division is always going to raise red flags, it just does not seem fair to make a change after such a successful campaign in the Championship.
