‘Luis Diaz bid worth up to £71m set to arrive at Liverpool’
Liverpool star Luis Diaz could be set to depart the club this summer despite playing a key part in their 2024/25 Premier League title win with a major bid now on the way.
The Reds secured their second Premier League triumph at a canter last month, as they finished on 84 points to complete a hugely successful first season on Merseyside for boss Arne Slot.
Slot has already overseen a busy start to the summer, with Trent Alexander-Arnold’s move to Real Madrid confirmed, while Jeremie Frimpong has since arrived in his place from Bayer Leverkusen.
Darwin Nunez has been linked with an Anfield exit after a tough campaign, but it is his fellow attacker, Luis Diaz, who could well be on his way out of the club soon.
Left-wing star Diaz registered 13 goals and seven assists in 36 Premier League appearances last season, yet his Liverpool future remains unclear with the transfer window now open for a short time until 10 June.

Al-Nassr set to move forward on transfer for Liverpool forward
Diaz recently reached the end of his third full season at Liverpool, and it was his most productive yet as the Reds stormed to the Premier League title under Dutchman Slot.
His impressive form has alerted numerous clubs to his availability this summer, after Football Insider revealed on 14 April that Liverpool would consider mega-money offers for the 28-year-old.
Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr have been linked with a move, and talkSPORT journalist Ben Jacobs has now reported that Stefano Pioli’s side are set to approach Liverpool after an offer for Diaz’ services worth up to €85million (£71.5m) was approved centrally in the Saudi Pro League.
La Liga winners Barcelona are still in with a chance of signing Diaz in the coming months too, but the Catalan giants do not look to be readying a bid for his services soon, while Al-Nassr have made him a top target as a possible replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.
Diaz’ inconsistencies could lead Liverpool to accept bid
Diaz has been a key man for the Reds ever since his 2022 arrival from FC Porto, but even though last season was his most impactful in a red shirt, he could well be on his way out of the club this summer.
Liverpool manager Slot recently admitted that he was a “big admirer” of the Colombian international and his “great season,” yet new reports of a potentially sizeable bid for his services from Saudi Arabia could well tempt the Anfield hierarchy into a sale soon.
At 28-years-old, Diaz’ time being a top operator on the wing is likely coming to an end in the coming years, especially given his reliance on pace and explosiveness to burst past opponents and score or assist.
Appearances | Starts | Goals | Assists |
50 | 38 | 17 | 8 |
He has been inconsistent at times for the Reds too over the years, and even went 10 league games without a goal from September to December last season, while he netted in just one of his nine Champions League appearances with a hat-trick against Leverkusen in November.
It is fair to admit that his left-wing position is one that Slot may well look to upgrade this summer as Liverpool aim to retain their title, and so it may well make sense to sanction an exit for the Colombian if Al-Nassr do make an official bid soon.
