Manor Solomon issues Ao Tanaka request as Celtic star responds to Leeds message

Ao Tanaka took to social media after scoring the opening goal in Leeds United’s comfortable 4-0 victory over Bristol City.

It should have been the Japanese midfielder’s second goal of April, with Tanaka having a goal wrongly disallowed against Middlesbrough, but it got the promotion party started at Elland Road, nonetheless.

Willy Gnonto doubled the Whites’ lead as the promotion party continued on Monday, 28 April, before Largie Ramazani scored a late brace after replacing the former for the final 10 minutes.

Daniel Farke, who could still be sacked by Leeds despite winning promotion, is just one game away from lifting the Championship title as they prepare to face Plymouth Argyle in the final match of the season.

Taking to Instagram (29 April) with 100 points still in sight, Tanaka wrote: “One game to go. Keep pushing,” with a fire emoji, prompting likes from Celtic’s Daizen Maeda, and teammates Joe Rodon and Junior Firpo.

Gnonto replied: “Keep pushing…” with a heart and kissing emoji, while Tottenham loanee Manor Solomon commented: “Two goals next time, please.”

Daniel Farke at risk despite chance at lifting Championship title

Football Insider verdict

The manager has done exactly what he was tasked with, albeit at the second time of asking after missing out on promotion last term, but he absolutely deserves his plaudits in the Championship.

Leeds fans made their stance on Farke’s potential exit very clear against Bristol City, but considering the German’s Premier League record with Norwich City, the concerns are somewhat understandable.

Due to that, Jose Mourinho is one of the names linked with Leeds this summer, but after gaining promotion back to the Premier League, Farke deserves a chance to prove himself with a better squad and better funding.

Leeds’ last squad to play in England’s top tier consisted of the likes of Liam Cooper, Tyler Roberts, Helder Costa and Jack Harrison. The current squad is far more talented.

It would be an incredible risk for the 49ers Enterprises to take concerning Farke’s potential sacking, especially with the job he has done so far, but the rumours continue to swirl ahead of the summer.
