Sources: Bristol City and Ipswich Town race to sign Jack Taylor
Bristol City and Ipswich Town are plotting moves to sign Peterborough United midfielder Jack Taylor, sources have told Football Insider.
Taylor, 24, has established himself as one of the best young midfielders in the EFL after impressing for Peterborough over the last couple of seasons.
Ipswich have held a long-term interest in Taylor after seeing three bids rejected for the Irishman in the January transfer window, while Bristol City are keen to add Taylor to their squad for next season.
Peterborough are ready to cash-in on Taylor for the right price with the former Chelsea youngster entering the final year of his contract at London Road.
Taylor made 52 appearances for Peterborough in all competitions last season, scoring 10 goals and providing six assists as Posh lost in the League One play-off semi-finals.
The midfielder joined Peterborough for a fee of around £500k from Barnet in January 2020 and put pent to paper on a four-year deal.
Speaking to The Peterborough Telegraph (12 June), The Posh director Barry Fry said he expects Taylor to end up in the Championship having already received bids for the player from Ipswich earlier this year.

After losing a dramatic League One play-off semi-final to Sheffield Wednesday, Peterborough are looking to rebuild the squad, which could see Taylor make the switch to either Bristol City or Ipswich.
Bristol will be hoping to improve upon their 14th place finish in the second tier of English football last season whilst Ipswich will be joining them in the Championship after winning promotion from League One.
