Sources: Cardiff City, Swansea City and Bristol City in race to sign Jordan Thomas

Cardiff City, Swansea City and Bristol City are among a host of EFL clubs chasing non-league sensation Jordan Thomas, sources have told Football Insider.

Thomas, 22, has been earning rave reviews for National League South side Bath City this season with up to as many 23 EFL scouts making the trip to watch him in action against Yeovil last Wednesday night (6 December).

The jet-heeled winger has scored eight goals in 19 starts so far this season and a well-placed recruitment source has told Football Insider he could be the “next big thing” to come from non-league into the EFL.

Thomas has won seven Man of the Match awards already this season, and he also has the most completed dribbles in the entire National League.

Cardiff, Swansea and Bristol City are set to continue to keep tabs on the winger’s progress with Bath City unlikely to stand in his way to move up the football pyramid.

The Oxford-born ace only joined the Romans in June 2023 but could already be on the move.

He previously played further down the football pyramid for Didcot Town and North Leigh before stepping up to the sixth tier in the summer.

Thomas has been a regular starter for Bath this season – with the Somerset club sitting just inside the National League South play-off places after 21 games.

Swansea

Cardiff are seventh in the Championship this term after Erol Bulut’s side ran out 1-0 winners against Millwall on Saturday (9 December).

Both Swansea and Bristol City are struggling for form in the bottom half of the second tier having already parted company with their managers this term.
