Thomas Frank told managing Crystal Palace won’t just be Brentford 2.0
Crystal Palace are considering Tottenham manager Thomas Frank among a number of targets to become their next permanent manager.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Frank is on Palace‘s shortlist, with the process to replace Oliver Glasner well underway.
However, there are some doubts surrounding the manager after his disastrous spell at Tottenham, with some questioning whether he would succeed at Palace.
Despite an extremely impressive spell with Brentford where he transformed them into Premier League regulars, many acknowledge the club was set up for him.
His struggles since leaving to manage Spurs have led to to doubts about whether the success he has shown previously can be replicated elsewhere.

Crystal Palace weigh up Thomas Frank appointment
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 18 January that Crystal Palace would like to appoint Frank as their next manager when Glasner leaves in the summer.
Sources say Frank is seen as the perfect fit at Selhurst Park thanks to his impressive record at Brentford, where he was working on a similar budget to the Eagles.
However, some lingering doubts have raised question marks about his potential appointment.
“If Thomas Frank leaves Tottenham, of course they’ll look at him,” Brown told Football Insider.
“But it’s not straight forward, because who’s to say the problems he’s had at Tottenham won’t happen again at Crystal Palace? You can’t be certain.
“It’s been nothing short of a disaster for him at Tottenham, but then the question is whether that’s a Thomas Frank issue or a Tottenham issue.
“If Crystal Palace are appointing their next manager, they want to make sure it’s somebody who will fit in with the way they do things there.
“Frank has it all cut out of him at Brentford, everything was almost built for him and so he was successful, that won’t be the case at Crystal Palace.

“So he’ll be on their radar because of that success he had with Brentford, but whether he’s the one they want to go forward with, I’m not sure.
“There’s a lot of considerations to make there, as there are with any manager, and it’s a decision they have to get right because they’re in a difficult position now.”
Frank sack update emerges at Tottenham
Despite speculation about potential future jobs for Frank, he remains in the dugout at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as things stand, with the club keen to back him.
Spurs’ 2-0 win against Borussia Dortmund last time out as further complicated the situation, with his Champions League form opposing the Premier League struggles.
However, Football Insider exclusively revealed on 18 January that Tottenham are accelerating plans to sack Frank as many have lost faith in his position.

The defeat against West Ham and fans’ reactions are believed to be “game-changers” for the club’s hierarchy, with chants of ‘sacked in the morning’ ringing out.
While he remains in the job and has been given a stay of execution as things stand, any further league defeats are expected to lead to his dismissal.
