Tottenham fans will lose their minds over who’s in contention to replace Thomas Frank

Thomas Frank is fighting for his job at Tottenham after yet another disappointing result on Saturday.

Tottenham drew 2-2 with Burnley at Turf Moor, and were forced to rely on Cristian Romero‘s stoppage-time header to emerge with a point.

The Lilywhites are without a win in any of their last five Premier League games, and have failed to beat both the Clarets and West Ham in the last week.

Tottenham are keen to give Frank the chance to turn his side’s form around, but the pressure is increasing massively with each game the Dane’s team fail to win.

Should they pull the trigger, Tottenham could be forced to pay up to £8million in compensation for sacking Frank.

Ryan Mason named in running for Tottenham job

It was just under seven months ago that Ryan Mason left Tottenham to become the manager of West Brom.

But at the start of the month, West Brom sacked Mason after a 14th loss in just 27 matches across all competitions this season.

The 34-year-old took interim charge of Tottenham on two different occasions, and decision-makers at The Hawthorns thought he was ready for his first managerial role.

But, clearly, they were wrong, and the Englishman was replaced by another young manager – Eric Ramsay.

In a shock twist, however, Mason has now been named in the running for the Tottenham job should Frank depart.

With a difficult Premier League run approaching, the Dane is at serious risk of the sack in the coming weeks.

Former West Brom manager Ryan Mason with betting odds

Mason has been named at 9/1 odds of taking the Tottenham job according to one major bookmaker, with Oliver Glasner (5/2) and Enzo Maresca (4/1) leading the race.

What Mason said about becoming the Tottenham manager

Presumably, Mason’s potential appointment would be in the same flavour as Man United‘s move to bring back Michael Carrick.

After Ruben Amorim was dismissed earlier this month, decision-makers at Old Trafford thought it a better idea to appoint an interim manager for the rest of the season.

Glasner is expected to be in the running for the permanent job in the summer, but should Carrick lead Man United on a stunning recovery, it would be hard to ignore him.

Speaking in 2023, when he was asked if he’d like the permanent Tottenham job, Mason said: “For me, I feel ready. I know I’m ready.

“If that situation happens, it obviously means that we’ve done a good job, but that’s fast-forwarding five, six weeks time and, like I say, the immediate thought is the game on Thursday and also we have a game on Sunday.”
