Erling Haaland posts ‘incredible’ message to Lamine Yamal

Erling Haaland dedicated a message to Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal following his standout display against Inter Milan.

Haaland and Manchester City were eliminated from the Champions League in the inaugural play-off round back in February, leaving the Norwegian striker to watch the tournament unfold from the sidelines.

Arsenal are now the only English side left in the competition, but their European hopes hang in the balance Mikel Arteta’s side lost to PSG in a narrow 1-0 defeat.

Meanwhile, Barcelona and Inter Milan delivered one of the most entertaining matches of the tournament so far in a thrilling 3-3 draw on 30 April.

Yamal’s dazzling performance stood out, catching the attention of City’s number nine – who took the moment to send a message of admiration to the teenager during the game.

Haaland may have only recently returned from injury for City, but that hasn’t stopped him from keeping a close eye on the Champions League.

During Barcelona’s dramatic clash with Inter Milan, Yamal lit up the stage with a sensational solo goal to help mount a comeback after the Spaniards went 2-0 down.

The 17-year-old was electric throughout the night, even striking the crossbar twice in a thrilling 3-3 draw.

Haaland was clearly impressed. The City striker posted a message to his Snapchat story alongside a photo of Yamal, writing: “This guy is incredible.”

Despite a disappointing Champions League campaign of their own, Pep Guardiola’s men still have the chance to end the season with silverware. Man City are set for an FA Cup final appearance where they will face Crystal Palace and remain in the fight for a top-five finish.

Guardiola has faced growing pressure after an inconsistent campaign, with early elimination from Europe and patchy domestic form raising questions.

But injuries have undeniably played a part—most notably to Rodri, who has missed most of Man City’s season, and Haaland, who was also sidelined for a period more recently.

The Norwegian’s return could prove vital as City look to secure Champions League football for next season. While speculation has circulated about Guardiola’s long-term future, the Spaniard is still expected to remain in charge heading into the next campaign in a crucial season for the club.
