Gabriel Magalhaes bids farewell in new message as Arsenal exit confirmed

Gabriel Magalhaes and Declan Rice joined Arsenal teammates in responding to an emotional farewell from a key figure in the dressing room.

Arsenal are preparing for a summer of significant change following another frustrating end to the season, finishing second in the Premier League for the third year running.

Among those expected to depart are Kieran Tierney and Nuno Tavares, while Thomas Partey is currently in talks over a possible contract extension with his deal set to expire next month.

Jorginho is another player that is expected to leave Arsenal with his deal also expiring next month.

After joining on an initial 18-month deal, the Italian midfielder agreed a short-term extension last summer. But with that contract now nearing its end, there has been no update on further renewal discussions.

Now, the Italian has confirmed his intentions in a heartfelt message to the Arsenal supporters, reflecting on his time at the club.

Jorginho confirms Arsenal exit ahead of expected Flamengo move

The 33-year-old has confirmed he will be leaving Arsenal when his contract expires at the end of the season in his recent post on Instagram.

He shared an emotional farewell video, reflecting his time at the club, with a simple caption: “Thank you, Arsenal.”

Plenty of heartfelt messages followed in the comments. Gabriel wrote: “I love you my brother! I’m going to miss you every day” while Rice added: “Pleasure to play with you brother.”

Other teammates, including William Saliba, Jurrien Timber and club captain Martin Odegaard, also showed their appreciation by liking the post.

A move to Brazilian giants Flamengo now looks to be the most likely next step in Jorginho’s career. Reports suggest that Arsenal are open to facilitating an early departure should the two clubs reach an agreement ahead of the Club World Cup.

With Jorginho set to depart, the club appear to have already identified a successor

Football Insider revealed Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Spanish international has attracted interest from several top clubs in recent years, including Liverpool and, more recently, Real Madrid.

However, it now seems Arsenal are in pole position, having laid the groundwork for a deal that could see Zubimendi become their first signing of the summer.
